County Agent Tomato

We received the original seed from "The Exchange" at Seed Savers Exchange.  There is very little information about this variety, but we found one thing that was noteworthy.  From The Tomato Man's Daughter in Tulsa, Oklahoma: "Up to 1 lb. beefsteak type. Seed originally brought to this country from Germany by County Extension Agent Clarence Jones of Mayes County. His son, Jim, told me they also had a hardware store in Pryor, OK in the 1950’s. Has performed well for us. Dad’s seed source was from plants provided to him by Ken and Pat Daubney of Bixby, OK."

This is a farm favorite and is in the top 3 of all the 2025 tomatoes.  Gorgeous pink beefsteak that is meaty and solid and out performed several other beefsteaks in taste and ease to grow.  It is indeterminate, was able to produce huge fruits on low pressure irrigation, and continued to grow through our monsoons and high temperatures.  Fruits varied in size and shape.  0.2 grams.
