Detroit Dark Red Beet

An 1892 introduction bred by a Mr. Reeves from Lake Ontario area. D.M. Ferry Morse from Detroit, Michigan was the seed company to introduce it.  Its parentage is said to be from the "Early Blood Turnip Beet". It is known for its sweetness and fine grain making for a tasty beet.  You can also use beet juice to dye fibers.
