Giant Musselburgh Leeks

(Allium ampeloprasum) Biennial farm favorite for both the flavor and size of the leek, and the fluffy white ball of flowers that pollinators love.  A farm rule we have is to leave two out of ten leeks for the next year to go to seed and keep the pollinators happy.  Some (but not all) of the leeks can reach almost 2" around at the base and 3 feet tall.  Regardless of size they are a delicious addition to potato leek soup.  1800's heirloom from the Musselburgh area in Scotland.  1.25 grams.  Lot #FGMBLK24-03.
