Red Czech Tomato

This tomato is from Seed Savers Exchange (Accession #125216) and came without a description or history.  It turned out to be the farm favorite of 2025.  It is hard to classify the tomato - it could be a slicer or a beefsteak.  The seed pulled away from the side in many of the fruits which could indicate it was bred to be a stuffing tomato. It has very thick walls and not many seeds which made it a good sauce tomato.  We used it for all of the above.

The taste was balanced and it was not super juicy.  The fruit size and shape was varied.  It had an semi-indeterminate habit and required some trellising.  It did require a bit more water than the arid tolerant tomato varieties, but the hot Arizona sun didn't phase it.
